This 40-page activity guide provides a "treasure hunt" for children to explore the joys of 4-H on their own, by discovering their interests, potential 4-H projects, and finding 4-H where they live, with the guidance of parents or other adult helpers. The ?exploration? theme is meant to actively engage a child as he or she embarks on a personal journey to discover the exciting opportunities (treasures) available in 4-H. The Youth Guide is in a workbook format and includes activities for a child to complete with a project helper, such as a teacher, parent or club leader. A ?map? accompanies each activity to guide the exploration. Each step is clearly identified with headings such as Start Here, Travel Log, Map it Out and X Marks the Spot. New terms are introduced and defined in the section labeled Compass Points. It is arranged in the following six chapters: Chapter 1 - Exploring 4-H Follow the Path to 4-H Exploring the Four H?s Chapter 2 - Exploring Myself and My Interests Who I Am - My Treasure Box Picture Me Chapter 3 - Exploring My Family and My Friends Home Sweet Home Let?s Be Friends!
