Wrapping
Paper
Use an original computer design to create wrapping paper.
Original drawings take on a whole new look when they are
repeated endlessly. The computer can easily make multiple images from a
single image or motif. You can
create original patterns suitable for wrapping paper and other special
surfaces with just a click of the mouse.
Materials:
-
Computer software such as Kid’s Pix or
a paint program
-
Printer
-
Standard computer paper. The size of the
paper will depend on the size the printer can handle.
-
Markers, crayons, colored pencils, or other
drawing tools
-
Scissors
Ready, Set, Create
-
Create an original drawing on the computer, or choose one you have
already drawn.
-
Move it to Kids Pix, if needed.
-
Select the wallpaper tool under the Mixer.
-
Put the pointer on the area you want repeated.
-
Print out the patterned design.
-
Wrap a special gift in it.
|
Reflect
-
What looks different about your
design, now that it is repeated so often?
-
What kind of gift should be inside
your wrapping paper?
Apply
-
What can you add to your wrapping
paper after it is printed?.
-
What other ways could you make
wrapping paper?
-
What besides wrapping paper use
designs with repeated patterns?
