Youth may write about their experiences in the field in service to others, their conclusions from research or experiences, or their feelings about helping others. Educationally, reflection helps youth process their experiences and think through the implications of their actions.
Adults may want to reflect on their teaching practice, how they plan a learning activity, how they interact with youth, and how they feel about supporting youth in service learning. In the Helper’s Guide on pages 6-7, there are a set of questions to guide helpers in thinking about their own journaling. The Meeting Plan (.doc - 20 kb) on page 36 of the Helper's Guide can also help you review your activity plans.
